We understand that you may have several questions and concerns regarding how the transition will affect you and your life at work. Compass Group can see very clearly how successful you have been to date, and we want to work with you to continue that success as we work through this transition and beyond. Because of that, we want you to remember that most of the things in your working world will remain the same and that you will remain a UK employee.

Compass Group, in partnership with the University of Kentucky, will work to ensure that all of your questions are answered and that you have all the information you need.

While there are details that will still need to be worked out, we would like to answer some of your questions through the following Question and Answer "Q&A" format. As we approach the July 1, 2026 partnership date, you will receive additional information.

TRANSITION

  • The transition date is scheduled for July 1, 2026.

  • Yes, your current role, responsibilities and work location will remain the same. As operations are evaluated over time, new or different positions may become available within Compass Group. Applying for those roles is optional.

  • No, there is no requirement to interview, apply, or move to Compass Group.  Employees will remain in their current roles unless they choose to apply for and accept a position with Compass Group. 

  • No, your schedule will not change. As we implement new processes and technology, we will work with you to ensure any changes are minimal.

COMPENSATION & PAY

  • Yes.

  • You will continue to be paid through the University of Kentucky payroll schedule using your current pay method. Compass Group payroll processes apply only to team members who accept Compass Group positions. You will continue to contact your current supervisor or University HR/payroll for any pay related questions.

BENEFITS

  • No, you will continue to receive University of Kentucky benefits, including medical coverage, retirement plans, and other benefit programs.

  • No, if you are currently participating in a retirement plan, that retirement plan will continue to be administered by the University of Kentucky.

PAY TIME OFF & LEAVE

  • No, any vacation, sick leave, and/or holiday accruals will continue under your current policy with the University of Kentucky.

  • Any previously approved time off will continue to be honored under the current policy with the University of Kentucky.

  • All leave programs, including FMLA, will continue to be administered by the University of Kentucky as long as you remain a University of Kentucky team member.
